PuntoUP Professional Recruitment is looking for a Project Manager –Solar Energy on behalf of an international company developing a large-scale renewable energy project in Western Romania. The role covers the delivery of the 400kV substation, interconnection line, telecom and metering systems, working directly with HV contractors and the national grid operator. Location: Dama, Arad, Romania (site-based, 4–5 days per week)

Main Purpose of the Job: The High Voltage Project Manager will hold overall responsibility for the delivery, construction, energization and commissioning of the HV interconnection infrastructure. Acting as the company’s principal representative for all grid connection activities, this person will provide strategic oversight of HV contractors, TSO interfaces and critical interconnection works, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with technical, safety and grid code requirements.

Job Profile:

• Support and coordinate the execution, construction, testing and energization of the HV interconnection infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, telecom and metering systems.
• Coordinate HV contractors and subcontractors, follow up technical and contractual issues, and act as the company’s main on-site HV representative for day-to-day execution activities.
• Support implementation of project controls for the HV scope, including schedule follow-up, engineering approvals, procurement milestones, manufacturing progress, and quality and construction risk management.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all HV construction and commissioning activities, ensuring works comply with project standards, TSO requirements and applicable grid code requirements.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders involved in the HV interconnection scope, including the grid operator, HV contractors, consultants, local authorities and utility representatives.
• Prepare and coordinate progress reports, engineering status updates, manufacturing trackers, risk registers and commissioning updates for the Construction Director and project leadership team.
• Coordinate interfaces and potential interferences between the HV/BoP contractors and the PV contractors, ensuring alignment of construction activities, access, energization sequences, commissioning plans and telecom/SCADA integration.

Candidate Profile:

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in HV infrastructure, grid connection or utility-scale renewable energy projects, working with EPC contractors, utilities, TSOs or IPPs.
• Experience supporting or managing HV substations, transmission lines, interconnection infrastructure and energization activities in utility-scale projects.
• Familiarity with TSO requirements, grid code compliance and utility interfaces, preferably within the European market; experience in Romania or with the national grid operator is an advantage.
• Experience coordinating interfaces between HV/BoP contractors and PV EPC contractors within multi-contract execution environments.
• Experience in site management, logistics coordination and sequencing of construction activities.
• Good contractor coordination and problem-solving capabilities in the field.
• Exposure to BESS integration and HV interfaces is considered an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including MS Project, and ability to review engineering and technical documentation; familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical design tools is an advantage.

• Fluency in English and Romanian is required.
• Hands-on and practical profile with strong operational presence in the field.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities in relation to contractors, consultants, utilities and authorities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-contract execution environment with multiple interfaces and priorities.
• Willingness to be site-based for the majority of the working week (4–5 days).
