Main Purpose of the Job: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for turning the company’s vision, strategy and plans into a purchasing strategy, while providing effective purchasing support and tools to other departments in order to maximize cost effectiveness across the organization. This is an operational, hands-on role: the person will actively carry out procurement activities while coordinating a small team, working in close cooperation with senior management.

Job Profile:

• Create, develop and implement the purchasing strategy for the organization, in line with corporate guidelines.
• Ensure clear procurement strategies are implemented and maintained across procurement areas.
• Monitor and forecast demand, and analyze price and market trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking, identifying opportunities for direct and indirect cost savings.
• Identify, contact and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day purchasing and sourcing operations across the region.
• Follow up on operational results and overall performance, identifying deviations and implementing corrective action plans.
• Ensure structured processes and procedures are in place for the purchasing organization.
• Lead, motivate and manage the purchasing team, coaching individuals and developing their competencies.
• Set KPIs and individual targets for the team and monitor them on a regular basis.
• Visit business partners and clients regularly for follow-up and development.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, understanding their risks and legal impact.
• Collaborate closely with senior management on purchasing strategy and results.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar purchasing/procurement role.
• Experience coordinating a team, with people management responsibilities.
• Relevant business knowledge and experience in a similar role, ideally within an international company.
• Higher education or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and a result-oriented mindset.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders and demand management.
• Fluent in English.
