PuntoUP Executive Search is looking for a Managing Director on behalf of a leading international provider of financial solutions in the commercial vehicle industry. The role is based in Bucharest and covers the Black Sea region – Romania and Bulgaria offering the rare chance to build and lead a regional financial services operation from the ground up. Main Purpose of the Job: The Managing Director will be fully accountable for the financial services business across the Black Sea region. This means driving profitable growth, ensuring operational excellence, and acting as the strategic partner to the regional commercial organization — aligning financial services with vehicle sales to maximize both customer value and business performance.

Job Profile:

• Define and execute the regional financial services strategy in alignment with the company’s broader commercial objectives.
• Develop the product portfolio strategy covering financing, leasing, and insurance, including go-to-market plans, volume targets, profitability goals, and risk appetite.
• Identify growth opportunities and drive business expansion across existing and new markets in the region.
• Partner with the company’s distributor network to develop strong financial services penetration strategies.
• Lead brand positioning and marketing initiatives across the region.
• Establish and optimize sales processes, contract management frameworks, and performance tracking mechanisms.
• Hold full P&L responsibility for the region and deliver profitable portfolio growth in line with strategic targets.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
• Oversee credit underwriting and collections within defined mandates, ensuring a balanced approach to risk management.
• Guarantee full compliance with internal policies and local regulatory frameworks in both Romania and Bulgaria.
• Build strong, trust-based partnerships with regional leadership, distributors, and group-level stakeholders.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing regional team, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to commercial vehicles or asset-based financing.
• Proven track record of P&L responsibility and scaling operations in a regional or multi-country context.
• Strong commercial acumen combined with sound awareness of credit risk and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership capability in multicultural, cross-functional environments.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills relevant to the region are a plus.
