PuntoUP Professional Recruitment is seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Manager ( with a strong focus on Compensation & Rewards) to lead the HR function for a national company in the production, distribution, and retail sector, based in Craiova.
With over 260 employees and a growing national footprint, the company is entering a new phase, focused on professionalizing HR, increasing retention, and implementing a competitive rewards system. This role is designed for a strategic yet hands-on HR leader who can own the full HR agenda while transforming the way people are compensated and recognized.
Main Purpose of the Job:
As HR Manager, you will oversee all core HR processes, recruitment, personnel administration, payroll, organizational development, while personally leading the design and implementation of a modern, data-driven compensation & benefits framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full HR team (10 FTEs), including recruitment, administration, payroll, and compliance.
- Oversee end-to-end HR operations: recruitment & onboarding, personnel administration, payroll, and HRIS (Colorful HR).
- Design and implement a comprehensive rewards strategy, mapping roles, salary levels, and benefits; creating scalable salary bands and bonus schemes; and aligning compensation philosophy with business objectives.
- Streamline and professionalize HR processes, bringing structure to legacy systems and ensuring legal compliance.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, contributing to organizational design and long-term people strategy.
- Serve as a catalyst for transformation, guiding the HR function through change and modernization.
Qualifications:
- Min. 5 years of experience in a similar HR leadership role, preferably in retail, logistics, or transformation contexts.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing compensation & benefits strategies (not just administering existing plans).
- Experience in managing and developing HR teams and collaborating cross-functionally with business and finance.
- Strong understanding of payroll, labor legislation, and HR administration processes in Romania.
- University degree in HR, Business, Economics or related field.
- Postgraduate HR certifications or C&B-specific training are a plus.
- Advanced English, professional fluency required.
- Outstanding interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with a collaborative and pragmatic leadership style.
- High adaptability and resilience in ambiguity, able to take ownership even in unstructured environments.
